Quick thought about this advice. Every time it's offered, people claim it's victim shaming. I disagree. It's threat modeling.

We regularly tell orgs not to generate data they won't protect. We tell them to retain data no longer than they need it. This is good advice. 1/2
That said, you should be able to take nudes and not have them hacked/leaked. Just like organizations should be able to collect sensitive data without the same concerns. But neither is the real world. In the real world, we need to make risk decisions about ALL of our data. 2/2
Want to be very clear that I'm not victim shaming anyone (nor will I ever).

On a personal note, I've had many talks about security with my daughter. At some point, she'll do whatever she wants. But I'm going to make sure she's educated to make threat modeling decisions. 3/3
Probably worth noting that some people actually ARE victim shaming when they say this. I don't believe that was the case with @marcusjcarey, it's certainly not with me. 4/4
