By my very rough estimation, even using all the modern technology available and banning the things mentioned (airplanes, most cars, meat etc), you would still need to magically get rid of ~40% of the US population to get to net zero emissions in a decade.
That doesn’t account for any of the projects mentioned in the Green New Deal. If you add having to refurbish every building, building trains that can go everywhere, providing housing/healthcare/health care etc., you would need to get rid of almost everyone else.
Even Thanos only wanted to get rid of about 50%. He almost seems reasonable compared to what you would need to do to achieve the goals of the Green New Deal.
