1/ Are we alone in thinking that there is something strange about Mrs May? She was a remainer, but almost the first thing she does as PM is invoke article 50 and adopt a hard set of redlines. Ok, that's politics we suppose, but there's more... 
2/ as a remainer, she could have used new polls showing less people now support brexit to push for a softer brexit. She hasn't.
3/ she could use the credible threat of an Irish border poll and/or another indyref to push for a softer brexit. She hasn't.
4/ she could use any of a hundred legitimate reasons to implement a
Softer brexit - but she won't. It's like she has been programmed with a set of prime directives she can't deviate from.

5/ she can't be scared of the public, since as many polls show the public wouldn't mind a soft brexit, and in any case, just want politicians to get on with brexit.
6/ she can't be scared of Ukip, as they are moribund and won't even have MEPs soon.
7/ She can't be scared of Labour, since the Conservatives are ahead in the polls, and their own brexit position has been vague.
8/ the only conclusion we can draw is that Mrs May is scared of the backlash from the party within her party - the parasite ERG that waxes fat in the bowels of her party, sucking all the energy and sense out of it. And their allies in the media (e.g. BorisGraph). Cowardice. /End
