These texts show Portland police have been sympathetic—if not protective—of the right-wing extremist group Patriot Prayer. portlandmercury.com/blogtown/2019/…
(and they might just be breaking several of the Portland Police Bureau's rules)
Some examples: "Heads up just told 4-5 black Bloch [another nickname for antifa] heading your way. One carrying a flag. We will have officers nearby but you may want to think about moving soon if more come."
"We have a large group of antifa trying to flank us an you. We are stopping them for now... but not sure how long."
"I want you to know you can trust me. Don't want to burn that."

Breaking: Oregon Federal Judge Micheal Simon grants @ACLU_OR temporary restraining order against @ICEgov, allowing 121 immigrant detainees in a Sheridan prison immediate access to legal counsel.
Details: For the next 28 days, the feds shall provide lawyers (specifically @lawlab) with access to at least 2 of the prison’s attorney visitation rooms for a minimum of 6 hrs per day (including weekends) to perform ‘know your rights’ trainings and individualized interviews.
Feds should install 4 telephone lines in prison capable of providing free direct calls to legal providers. Detainees allowed phone access between 8 am-8 pm. Feds should provide timely advanced notice.

#portland pd has a long history of white-power activity, most/all of which has gone unpunished. In 1981, officers Craig Ward and Jim Galloway tossed dead possums in front of a black-owned restaurant. "Possum" is a common slur for Black people in the PNW. wweek.com/portland/artic…
