A new #QAnon post revived the moronic and debunked "Whidbey Island missile" conspiracy theory. It alleges that the deep state fired a missile from a submarine in Puget Sound at Air Force One, flying to Singapore. And it was seen by a webcam before being shot down by an F-16.
Why is it moronic? First, submarine launched anti-aircraft missiles generally are useless, which is why nobody uses them. Second, no sub-launched anti-aircraft missile could possible have the range to hit a plane thousands of miles away.

Third, nobody living on or near Whidbey Island reported seeing or hearing a missile, nor did any military or civilian radar report one. Fourth, the timeline of the "launch" and where AFO was don't match up at all. Fifth, we know exactly how the image of the "missile" was made.
Last, we know exactly what the helicopter was doing when the webcam photo was snapped - flying an air ambulance run. But QAnon folks love theories like this - they're too vague to prove, but easy to load down with irrelevant details. Plus they're full of intrigue and drama.
It takes five minutes of research and a modicum of common sense to figure out that this is a dopey conspiracy theory based on confirmation bias. But if you really want to believe that the deep state took a failed swing at the God Emperor President, then Whidbey Island has it all.
For the hell of it, I did some quick math. Air Force One landed in Singapore 4 hours after the "missile" pic was taken. Puget sound to Singapore is a tick over 8k miles. Meaning a missile from WA would have to have flown mach 2.6 to hit Trump over Singapore. #QAnon
Needless to say, there is no missile in any country's military that can fly this quickly. But #QAnon will keep pretending like there is, and his logic-starved followers will keep believing him. Sad!
Since my mentions are full of QAnon droogs who think they're pwning me with the wikipedia entry for the Trident missile, let me clarify: yes, a ballistic missile can go very fast during re-entry - when it's unguided and unpowered. Useless for shooting an airplane down.
