1/ NEW: Sen. Angela Paxton has filed a bill that would give Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton — her husband — more regulatory power.

Including regulatory power related to state securities law.

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.

Fun facts about our Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton.

on August 3, 2015, in Paxton's first year in office, he became the first Texas Attorney General in 32 years to be indicted.

He still hasn't gone to trial, and it's not supposed to start until after the 2018 election.

Texas AG Ken Paxton has been under indictment since 2015 for three felony charges- 2 for securities fraud and 1 for failing to register with securities regulators.

The punishment is up to life in prison and yet he hasn't spent a day in prison yet.

Paxton's lawyers have tried to undermine the case by cutting the fees paid to the prosecutors.

Several lawsuits filed by Paxton's friend and campaign donor were also unsuccessful at cutting the prosecutors' pay.

AG Ken Paxton had a big campaign haul, again, this cycle: $2.5m. (I'm sure @christackettnow will do his analysis of Paxton vs. Kim Olson on # and average size of donors.) But a couple of things stood out to me in Paxton's filing. #txlege ...
First, major donors to Empower Texans & related PACs make up about 17% of Paxton's fundraising this filing. Kyle Stallings, Windi Grimes, Dick Saulsbury, the Sparkses, Wallace Hall, and Kathaleen Wall all gave. But there were 2 massive Empower-world donors there, too... #txlege
