Outside of the flawed warrant process & lies by the officer, we need to talk about ending the Drug War. A war where these lives are considered acceptable loses.

This situation is the inevitable outcome when we wage war against our own citizens for drug addiction.
When we talk about the militarization of our police force, we are talking about fighting the drug war more than anything else.

It's rare for local police to use no-knock armed raids on anything other than drug cases.
Police and prosecutors know how dangerous raids and no-knock raids are to both police and citizens.

So why do them at all except in the most extreme circumstances?

Because they might flush the drugs?

Why are we raiding someone who has a flushable amount of drugs?
Let's not forget the "collateral consequences" of the Drug War.

The millions of lives and families ruined.

The billions spent to lock up human beings.

All acceptable in the name of winning an unwinnable war against human nature.
