The unemployment rate in NI for the period October-December 2018 was unchanged at 3.8%.
There was an increase in the employment rate (70.3%) over the quarter (0.9 pps) and over the year (1.7 pps).
The economic inactivity rate (26.8%) decreased over the quarter (0.9pps) and over the year (1.6 pps).
That 70.3% employment rate (percentage of working adults in employment) is a record high for NI - though still more than 5pps below the UK rathe.
The changes are not statistically significant but with the employment rate rising & inactivity falling maybe we are seeing very low unemployment help to reactivate some workers
So all-in-all no sign of the labour market on the turn yet - though these figures lag the less positive PMI
