JUST IN: US Education Secretary @BetsyDeVosED to visit "Corridor of Shame" during visit to #SouthCarolina on Thursday.
MORE: DeVos and Deputy Secretary of Education Mitchell Zais will join @RepTomRice and SC Superintendent of Education @Molly_Spearman in Florence, to meet with education leaders in the impoverished area along I-95, where schools consistently fall below standards.
The visit comes amid ongoing debate on how to improve South Carolina’s education system. In his State of the State address last month, Gov. @HenryMcMaster pledged that “the words ‘Corridor of Shame’ will be a distant memory.”

Today I’m in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where U.S. Sen. @CoryBooker is starting the first of a two-day campaign swing in this early-voting state.
“We will either tear each other apart, or we will rise,” @CoryBooker told an audience of several hundred here in SC, after talking about how “Bloody Sunday” on the Edmund Pettus Bridge - where he will be Sunday - has influenced his life. “On that bridge, they did rise.”
“The hip hop generation is my generation,” @CoryBooker says, in response to a question about how he will get out the minority vote.
“I don’t want you walking around here like, ‘Don’t believe the hype.’ I want you to be like, ‘Fight the power!’”

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli attorney general announces corruption charges against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu .
MORE: Israel’s AG says he plans to charge Netanyahu with bribery for promoting regulatory changes worth hundreds of millions of dollars to telecom giant Bezeq in return for positive press coverage. He will also charge Netanyahu with fraud and breach of trust in two other cases.
The final decision on indictment will only take place after a hearing, where Netanyahu is given the opportunity to defend himself. That process is expected to take many months and be completed long after the April 9 elections. apnews.com/78b9a30dc13743…

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
