I'm sorry -- you think a faked assault in 2019 changes the historical record of the 1950s and 1960s? What?

Are ... are you OK? Do you smell burnt toast?
This is in response to the latest fact-checking I did of him.

I did this thread last evening, and now nearly a day later he's come back with this zinger.

Sweet Fancy Jesus, that is just the saddest thing I've ever heard.

I can't stop laughing about this. He really thought that was a good retort.

No, the historical narrative I've advanced -- one that's been pretty standard in the profession for fifty years -- is grounded in empirical facts.

You should really try that yourself sometime.
Here's a thread with lots of empirical facts, @DineshDSouza, including the fact that you made up a fake "Senator William Murray" and the fact that the only scholar you've invoked as supporting your work ran a segregtionist-funded eugenics institute.
And another fact here is that -- instead of responding to those empirical facts laid out in those threads, instead of meeting my evidence with actual evidence of your own as a legitimate scholar would -- you're desperately trying to change the subject to the Smollett hoax.

One thing I left out in this thread -- the Agnew speech that inspired anti-Semites was written by none other than Pat Buchanan.
The Nixon-Agnew message was largely shaped by two very different speechwriters -- the erudite William Safire and the hard-edged Pat Buchanan.

As he noted in his memoir Before the Fall, Safire crafted some memorable lines for Agnew, including the famous alliterative phrases:
But that Des Moines speech -- the one that anti-Semites responded to -- wasn't written by Safire (who was himself Jewish) but by Buchanan.

As Safire recalled, Buchanan bore most of the responsibility for it and excitedly noted that the confrontational tone "flicked the scab off"

Some thoughts on Nixon's Vice President Spiro Agnew and anti-Semitism.
Spiro Agnew's role in the Nixon White House was to act as its "attack dog," singling out the administration's enemies and targeting them for verbal abuse.

More than anything else, Agnew trained his fire on the American media.
On November 13, 1969, Vice President Agnew delivered a major speech to a Republican gathering in Des Moines, Iowa. In the speech, he blasted the media's coverage of the administration's handling of the war in Vietnam.

He actually sent a screenshot of what is the most unprofessional, intentional, & deceptive hiding of underlying data I have ever seen.

There is really only ONE reason to intentionally hide data that is crucial to your narrative calculation.

So this Sunday’s anti-trans headline has come from the Daily Mail. Not only is it provoking hysteria against trans kids (again), it’s also inaccurate and inflammatory.

Let’s start off with the blatant ableism. Yes, it is acknowledged there’s is a correlation between autistic traits and trans identities, but that doesn’t mean that autistic people’s gender identity should be ignored?

Also - since when were teachers medically trained to diagnose?
Then there’s the bizarre calculations, misinformation and assumptions.

1. Just because kids are at the Tavi, doesn’t mean they’re on blockers!

2. The waiting list for @TaviAndPort is 18m

3. So it’s unlikely ANY of the kids are on REVERSIBLE blockers

4. Surgery is only at 18+

I feel like driving up some controversy, so how about a thread of Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinions! You know the drill, one like = one take/opinion.

Start easy: the blunt awkwardness/cringe of 'Blurryface' is the point of taking the piss out of Tyler. I stand by my light 9/10.
2. I don't hate Nickelback's 'Dark Horse' - it's easily a record for them at their most tasteless, but the frat-bro swagger of it helps some of their better hooks.
3. 'Fireflies' by Owl City is a genuinely terrific song that captures precocious, starry-eyed wonderment better than few others in the 2000s.

It is SPECTACULARLY lame, but that's why it works.

#Fact 1 - The Wage Gap is real. People who says it's not haven't read the data.

However, in places like the USA, the wage gap is *not* mostly due to sexism like many #femnist #WomenInScience are claiming it is today. Disparate outcomes doesn't imply disparate treatment.
Women typically choose fields that are lower paying; even in the #STEM fields. To attribute that to sexism only or even mostly is a very dishonest way of deriving an answer for this complex disparity.
