Just as an aside, I'd love to see an actual deep dive into why all the anti-feminist assholes of geek culture cling to Aliens like it's their baby blanket and validation that they don't hate women.

I mean I get what attracts them to James Cameron's 2nd wave version of feminism where being a woman is really just being more like men, but Aliens is also thematically predicated on motherhood and depicts the military as incompetent braggarts, so why do they not conflict with it?

I'm guessing it's because they came to it rather young before they had a chance to develop any kind of toxic ideology.

All I can think of is the dudes who just have a steady diet of this crap, basting the man gravy cottage industry of feminazi stole my ice cream videos.

This guy has 92,000 subscribers and this video has gotten over 400,000 views in 2 days, this guy is on the low end of the reactionary nerdrage cottage industry.

Much like how people like Candace Owens and Tomi Lahren can suddenly adopt a far right political ideology and make money from an existing ecosystem, YouTube does the exact same thing, usually with anti-feminist rhetoric.

If I wanted to make a quick buck and had no soul, all I'd need is a webcam and the willingness make regular videos complaining about how bitches got it too good already and why are white guys so vilified.

And one of them is a drop in the bucket, but because this ecosystem exists, even when you don't want to see these videos, because they're garbage, they still show up in your recommends.

And I think about the 14 year old boys who go down a YouTube rabbit hole. You open up a fresh new account and go on YouTube's home page and there's not just 1 but 2 dedicated recommends to watch Joe Rogan. From there you're one click away from being recommended Gavin McInnes.

Kids are literally swirling in a sea of YouTube videos all driving them to hate women because the ecosystem financially rewards people who make that content.

The reason why there was such an absurd hatred and backlash against Anita Sarkeesian is because there were a handful of guys who were making tens of thousands of dollars a month from Patreon for putting a new "Anita is the devil incarnate" video every week.

It's nice work if you can get it, but you get 5 guys making a cushy living just ranting into a microphone about a woman for 20 minutes and 300 guys doing the same but making much less money.

And the end result is YouTube is flooded with videos all promoting hatred against one woman because everyone wants those dollar bills, yo.
