Roger Stone took the stand today to answer questions about Instagram post. It didn’t go well.

More than anything, the last few days have revealed how unprepared he is for his legal quagmire. latimes.com/politics/la-na…
Stone’s entire argument that a gag order would endanger his income from speaking and writing crumbled with a single question from the judge, who asked whether he’s paid to talk specifically about the Russia investigation. He said no.
Stone also said he wasn’t sure which of his volunteers found the photo of Judge Jackson. He wasn’t even sure the names of all his volunteers.
Stone said his apology was sincere. But he also admitted he didn’t write his previous apology and only signed it under advice from his lawyers.
Before today, Stone had said he would take the stand in his own defense at trial.

I wonder if that’s still his plan.

The special counsel's office has filed its sentencing memo for Paul Manfort. They say the situation "presents many aggravating sentencing factors and no warranted mitigating factors."

That's legalese for "throw the book at him."
"For over a decade, Manafort repeatedly and brazenly violated the law," prosecutors wrote. The crimes "remarkably went unabated even after indictment."

Breaking — A furious Judge Jackson imposed a near-total gag order on Roger Stone over his Instagram post. He can ask for legal fund donations and proclaim his innocence, but any other statements could land him in jail.
This was a remarkable court hearing. Roger Stone took the stand to talk about the Instagram post, but struggled under withering questions from the judge and prosecutors.
"How hard was it to come up with a photograph that didn't have crosshairs?" Jackson demanded at one point.

Stone said he didn't notice the symbol and didn't intend for them to be crosshairs.

Everyone's waiting with baited-breath for Judge AMJ's ruling on Roger Stone's felonious behavior on Monday...evidently she's not too happy! It's reported that she really pressed his attorney's @ why she should think his behavior will change as he's cont posting up til this am.

Sifting through the vile and unwarranted bullying that was present in the comments section of the content, what I saw was a number of users complaining that this kind of content is wildly unachievable and has significantly lowered their own confidence/satisfaction.
It’s important for influencers/bloggers to understand that we have a responsibility to our audience and the balance between revenue and audience satisfaction is a delicate one.

Any “influence” over our audience has a certain moral responsibility that comes with it.

1. I know it's hard for regular folks to keep up with the dribs and drabs of info on the Russiagate narrative, and put it all into a cohesive story to understand the bigger picture. Once all the tidbits are compiled, it's quite obvious its been a #witchhunt.
2. Without rehashing the entire story, I will point out the major fallacies by directing your attention to some critical work by others. The lies we've been told by the NYT & WaPo have become so ingrained in the public conciseness it will take a Herculean effort to change it.
3. The Dossier was the focus for all of 2017, until we learned it was junk, paid for by HRC. No problem. Switch to the Papadop story, which has been the focus for the last 6 months. Now that story has been completely dismantled, as explained by @JohnWHuber

Some general thoughts drawing on my reading of UUK/EPF/Aon/USS docs over last few weeks. UUK has been incredibly interested in making 'radical changes' to USS DB pensions since at least start of 2014. This is a strong & well articulated direction of travel.
In Feb 2014 web survey (analysed in detail here: threadreaderapp.com/thread/9763413…), interest in 'radical change' to DB pensions is embedded in wider logic of keeping employer contributions at a certain level, envisaging operational cost-saving through out-sourcing & off-shoring etc.
