The troll farm operation was a test of new “persistent engagement" strategy of confronting Russia & sharing info w/ partners. CyberCom also sent troops to Montenegro, Macedonia, Ukraine in 2018 to shore up their network defenses & obtain unfamiliar malware samples, traced to GRU.
