The first such group Kirillova discusses is RW ideologically religious. To that end, the Kremlin seeks to target activities & propaganda at Christian groups inclined to "protect Christianity." 2/8
This ideology is frequently intertwined w/nationalist sentiments & the promise of a restoration of lost greatness. ('Make America Great Again' is the U.S. version of this rhetoric.) 3/8
Putin's authoritarian govt's own ideology doesn't mesh w/far-left ideology, so its operations are aimed at generating momentum via trickery. 4/8
Conversely, extreme left groups are more useful to muddy political waters & foster division. 5/8

This can take the form of policy. A cursory look at Trump's cruel promises to his base show how Trump has used the Kremlin's tactics. 7/8
1) We reaffirm our support for liberal democracy as the single most important policy goal to our interests.
2) We make common cause w/those we disagree w/on other issues.
