Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says this has been a difficult few weeks because of internal disagreements. Before addressing today’s testimony, he speaks of accomplishments by justice department.
Trudeau says he strongly maintains that he and his staff acted professionally, completely disagrees with Wilson-Raybould’s testimony. Says of course there would be a discussion of jobs.
Trudeau says decision was Wilson-Raybould’s alone. Says jobs and the economy will always be a key issue for the government, including the potential loss of 9,000 jobs, pensions, but days the decision was Wilson-Raybould’s alone.
Trudeau says he will always act within the bounds of what is appropriate. Says he welcomes ethics commissioner’s investigation to clear the air.
