So, the big story isn't that *Jared and Ivanka* shouldn't have security clearances.
We know what the concerns were, even without the memo: "will definitely sell/trade state secrets to prop up billion dollar debt and gain favor with various international baddies they have long since befriended"

That's all public. The pathological lying doesn't help.
The real story is that POTUS is mishandling classified intelligence.

Last time I was at the Gaylord was during a cosplay convention and turns out that isn't very different from CPAC.
Some kid talking to his friend about being at Charlottesville stops to look on as some other kid trips and spills a bag of buttons reading "socialism sucks".

Each one wears the blue shirt/red tie uniform.
Meanwhile any drag queen would kill for these stilettos, and yes, the guy in motion next to her is wearing a Wild Wild West style fringe buffalo jacket, and is being stopped every few feet for fan selfies.

I woke up in middle of most Trumpian presser ever, in which he, replete with abundant lip-sweat, strung wordstuff together in nonsensical ways to respond to questions from just about any random Asian journo he could call on if he was sure they were not from the US press corps.
His love affair with Kim goes on, and he is aided in his word-dance by his stuffed suits, and he managed to work in how Kim wasn't responsible for the torture of Otto Warmbier, because, after all, he has a lot of people in prison camps, A LOT, and Kim can't keep up with all that.
The hand gestures say it all. POTUS got nothing in his fool's errand, and clearly something happened that he doesn't want to talk about that probably relates to why Lavrov was in Hanoi.

Oh look, Sean Hannity is in Hanoi, and fed lines to POTUS at the presser.

1. Today we spent the morning at the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council. We met with several members including Sheik Omar Emam Omar (VP) who thanked us for our efforts & gave us his blessings. We have raised over 110,000 birr and will be transferring
2. it on Monday. Sheik Omar told us we all have to protect what makes Ethiopia special which is our religious history of living together. He told us, "what you're doing is teaching about & protecting Ethiopiawinet & may Allah follow you in all your endeavors. It's not the money
3. that's the most important part but the thought & the symbolism"
The people we met to today were representing different regions Wollo, Addis, Somali, Gurage etc. & emphasized that our religious harmony is የኢትዮጲያ ዋና እሴት & we need to all stand together to maintain it.

1. It’s been exactly 5 years to the month that I understood clearly how easy it is to fall into a suicide trap. Been 5 years since I understood the importance of a support system and having specific things that you consider important enough to live for.

2. Yes, I mean that literally…I left my job somewhere in 2013 and when I came back for it, it wasn’t there again 😂…some people had taken it🤣. Incidentally, that was also the year that I discovered that a sneeze can cause serious distress because I sneezed and slipped 3 discs

Today for #TenThings, let's talk a little bit about LITERARY AGENTS. Why you might want one, how to get one, what to expect out of that relationship. Big surprise: I'm 100% pro-agent. I would not be where I am without 'em.
The usual disclaimer applies: YMMV, my way is not the only way, everyone's journey is different, you do you. This advice is intended for new writers considering traditional publishing. If you're violently anti-agent, maybe skip this thread? Spewers of vitriol get Muted/Blocked.
1. NO LITERARY AGENT = BETTER THAN A BAD literary AGENT. Seriously. There are tons of schmagents out there who will lie to you, take advantage of you, ignore you, demand money from you, and lock you into what's actually an abusive relationship. ALWAYS RESEARCH AGENTS.

Today's #TenThings post will be about FIRST PAGES. What to do, what not to do. As always, YMMV, my way is not the only way, and of course outliers can get away with crazy stuff. My experience comes from reading 100s if not 1000s of first pages in my classes, workshops, etc. So!
There are several things that are seen as RED FLAGS when an agent or editor is reading your 1st pages. I'm going to go through several of them and explain why they don't work. Your goal: Open in a scene that shows CHARACTER through DIALOG and ACTION, plus seamless WORLDBUILDING.
1. Opening w/ an insane fight scene or strange weirdness, then having your character wake up-- it was all a dream! You know we need ACTION! in 1st pages, but this old trick rarely works. Action means SOMETHING HAPPENS, not necessarily a crazy battle. Ground us, don't confuse us!

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
