THREAD

I’ve thought long n hard bout this

It isn’t what the media say about Corbyn/Labour/AS that irks. There are defo cases of AS on the left

It’s how often. And the fact that it’s more often and more vociferous than any criticism of the Govt or Islamophobia etc
Any society that criticises the opposition more than the govt has deep rooted problems

That isn’t whataboutery. It’s about the fundamental health of our democracy.

There are journalists I deeply admire who have fallen victim to it.

Scroll their timelines and you’ll see
Is this because we expect Labour to be different and better because it was founded upon the notion of social justice ?

Or is it because to be a journalist you often have to work as an unpaid intern in london and therefore only rich kids get on?

Either way our media often acts
as little more than a mouthpiece for the establishment

This cuts both ways. The Brexit voters and Corbyn supporters are infantilised by journalists who view them as stupid in some way

Between the two groups this is, way over half the population.

It’s really worrying
