If agreement with EU on withdrawal terms can’t be reached & if we can’t start to negotiate future relationship until we’re a non-member then time may be approaching to offer payment for several year standstill/transition - avoids ‘crash out on 29/3’ but we still leave then 1/3
Also we move to negotiate alternative arrangements to avoid hard border. We know EU has accepted such arrangements possible - yesterday’s WMS on this parliament.uk/writtenstateme… - & best to get on with negotiating future relationship - whether Norway or Canada model 2/3
To be clear I will vote for the draft Withdrawal Agreement next week & I hope it gets majority support. To get it approved and to leave on 29th would be by far the best outcome now for the Country after last 33 months although it is only really the end of phase 1 of Brexit 3/3
