@debashis_ I sincerely hope there exists a seed fund facility for tech startups. Please advertise that in top engineering and math colleges in WB, eg, IIT Kharagpur, Jadavpur, ISI, BE College etc to encourage entrepreneurial ventures. Do study the role Stanford grads play in Silicon Valley
@debashis_ I also hope that you would advertise Calcutta as the hub of knowledge economy, given the presence of several top STEM field Universities in Bengal, thus tech companies that start R&D units there would have access to a rich local pool to hire
@debashis_ Having taught at a top engineering school in USA for several years, it’s apparent to me that IIT Kharagpur & Jadavpur Engineering students are very bright, this is something you must advertise to entice top Corporates to start their R&D in Calcutta. We love our Shonar Bangla.
@debashis_ Sir, I also suggest that you consider ways and means to have undergraduate, masters and PhD students at top schools in Bengal (IIT KGP, ISI, Jadavpur, BE College) to intern at top companies all over India and outside. They would be natural advertisement for Bengal +
@debashis_ + If you facilitate the first few years, the next batches would automatically follow. Please also consider organizing conferences at the campuses or around these top schools & invite CTOs from top Corporates to attend these conferences. Have the best & most research active+
@debashis_ + professors from these top schools meet the CEOs. More generally, show the indigenous talent in WB. Jadavpur Engineering students regularly top IISc ME programs & pursue Phd in top US schools, should be same for ISI, IIT KGP, advertise this talent +
@debashis_ Finally, I am sure you know that Big Data is a hot research topic everywhere, in almost all companies with even limited tech interface. ISI exists in WB, IIT KGP should be doing some research in that field too, you might want to connect the research in these to Corporate sector+
@debashis_ Companies would arrive if they see that there is profit for them in doing so. It would be great if you can make that case to them.
