One of the best things about living abroad almost non-stop for the past year is you give less fucks

- AOC becomes President? Don't care

- Somebody talks shit to me online? Don't care

- Virus turns people in Wisconsin into zombies? Don't care
Let's keep going since some people will see this as apathetic or nihilist

Nope - complete opposite

Because it's given me tunnel vision to focus on the things I DO care about

- Talking to my family every day
- Growing my business
- Interacting with you guys
- Fitness goals etc
Living abroad has helped me separate the signal from the noise

A lot of the things you *think* are important in your little corner of the world aren't important at all

You just think they are because you're so close to them

I guess I'm practicing "selective detachment"

"Death By A Thousand Cuts"

The principle that small, "harmless" things/events/people/actions have a cumulative effect that will ultimately destroy you

In Productivity:
Having 15 tabs open at the same time, checking social media 50x a day, checking your phone every 3 minutes
In Fitness:
Eating little snacks, sweets, sugary drinks, booze and a half dozen key bumps because "I don't do it all the time"

In Relationship:
Giving your girl "a little cash here and there" to spend on shoes, hair, cell phone cases, Kylie Jenner lip gloss and scratch tickets
There are more, but the point is that you probably need to watch out for the Small things more than the Big things in life

Big things may be unavoidable

Small things ruin you after REPEATED exposure on a LONG timeline (like the bad habits you've had for many years)

I've been watching videos all day. I have one thing to say (in a bunch of tweets, so hold on): The videos BACK UP/STRENGTHEN Mr. Nathan Phillips' account of what happened toward the conclusion of the #IndigenousPeoplesMarch on Saturday. They also reveal how it all happened. 1/
1. I attended the #IndigenousPeoplesMarch from 8:30am-1pm. We started on the stairs of the Department of Interior and marched to Lincoln Memorial. The spirit was peaceful. The call was for indigenous people and allies to receive the wisdom of the elders/remember who we are. 2/
2. While I was at #IPMDC19 at Lincoln Memorial I neither saw, nor heard any competing rally or street preachers. I did see a huge group that took up most of the steps. They took a picture on the Lincoln Memorial steps. Many in the group seemed to have red caps. 3/

1. The Asshole Survival Guide. @work_matters's sequel to his blockbuster bestseller, "The No Asshole Rule". A depressing read when you realize how toxic some workplaces can be.
2."Black Money and Tax Havens", by Prof @rvaidya2000 - a short, breezy window into the world of black money. Again, a somewhat depressing read when you realize how weak the intent and how inconsequential the efforts into rooting out black money have been.

"Write, write, write” and the audience will come is a load of crap.

You have to be writing good content, you have to be marketing yourself, you have to be active on social media – it’s all part of the game.
If you want to have an audience and build a successful blog, you have to stand out.

Just writing crap that someone has probably already written about isn’t enough.

The people who give this advice aren’t totally wrong.
