No words.

Except this: social media platforms, including this one, are enabling and amplifying hate and we must take action—regulatory and otherwise—to inject some common decency and morality into these new public squares. Clearly, the CEOs in charge will not.
Do not share the footage.
Do not air the footage.
That is what mass shooters and purveyors of hate want.
A piece we post all too often on what is known—research even more definitive now—about how posting footage and pictures inspires more mass shootings and hate crimes: motherjones.com/politics/2015/…
I want to be perfectly clear: Media should report on what motivated shooter(s) in a case where poisonous ideology/influence is at play. But we don't need to spread footage or manifestos. It's tricky, but we need to report on hate in a way that confronts it, but doesn't spread it.
Do the CEOs/head safety officers of platforms have a group text/kill switch for stuff like this? If not, why not? (and if so, can we have the record, please?)
The white men who led/lead networks and (most) newspapers were biased and flawed and blinkered. But these guys—ALL WHITE MEN, BTW—have the BENEFITS of those historical lessons and they are MORE SO.
