Well - @nickboles quits his local Conservatives after deselection threats over his efforts to prevent No Deal - says he will continue as MP and take Tory whip if “offered on acceptable terms”... but stand down at the end of his mandate...
Chief Whip tweets to say he stays a Tory MP - I think. Which means he would have to rejoin a different local Conservative association that doesn’t mind his role in stopping no deal...
Another cchq source confirms he remains a Tory MP and that the net effect of this is he has just preannounced he is not going to stand in next election...

But that also means that local associations have no leverage over MPs planning to stand down...
