Yes LibDem leader did say this of his meeting with PM just before the Downing St speech - I have the clip ⬇️
Cable told me yesterday: “PM doubling down on No deal... She was asked at the meeting about the economic pain that would inflicted on millions of British people and the answer was people voted for pain... that was the conclusion I drew and I’m pretty certain she now believes it”
This was before the PM’s changed tone over extension agreement yesterday, it should be said, and I’m waiting for a response to this form Downing St - but Cable says this was the message he got from the PM meeting
