The Obama @EPA issued a rule under the #CleanAirAct to fight climate change by cutting carbon emissions from new power plants. Now, in a hand-out to polluters, @realDonaldTrump’s EPA is trying to swap in something much weaker.
And in the process, they’re ignoring big changes in the market for carbon capture technology, including new bipartisan incentives I fought to pass into law last year.
This Trump proposal is another example of fossil fuel interests capturing the #EPA and tearing down important environmental protections. Read my comment to the EPA: whitehouse.senate.gov/news/release/w…

I’m sorry, but this is weird.

First, if you’re confident in your decision, you don’t need to defend it. You just make it and move on. nytimes.com/2019/04/04/us/…
Second, there’s a strange mismatch between the pace of the super-fast “no obstruction” decision, versus not-so-fast #Mueller report vetting.

Obviously, Barr wanted to get the no obstruction finding out in his summary letter.
Reviewing thousands of pages of evidence to make a complex, fact-intensive legal conclusion on obstruction ought to be as time intensive as vetting a 400 page report for material that shouldn’t be released.

The fast-train/slow-train contrast is odd.

The things that police officers and firefighters see at accidents and crime scenes can be horrifying, and they often face terrible danger.

That's why I'm proud to join Senator @HawleyMO in introducing the Supporting and Treating Officers In Crisis Act of 2019.
The Supporting and Treating Officers In Crisis Act will:

1⃣ Restore grant funding for family-support services for police officers and
2⃣ Allow grant recipients to use funds to create suicide-prevention programs and mental health services for law enforcement officers.
These services will help them process and deal with the things they must bear to keep us safe.

Hello from Day 16 of El Chapo's trial.

More testimony coming today from Jorge Cifuentes (see photo), one of Chapo's Colombian cocaine suppliers. When we left off yesterday, Jorge was flying into the mountains to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Chapo's 2001 prison escape.
The other big news from yesterday was prosecutors showing the jury clips from the interview that El Chapo taped for Sean Penn, Kate del Castillo, and Rolling Stone.

Here's a sidebar convo where prosecutor Andrea Goldbarg refers to it as "the infamous Rolling Stone video."

The EPA has delayed implementation for 2 years as the agency “clarifies” (read: eliminates)the rule.The decision is a clear gift to industrial polluters who loudly protested the reg in 2015 & GOP lawmakers who have falsely claimed the rule regulates “puddles on private property.” Large freighter ship spilled red and yellow toxic sludge into waterway. People in small boats float on the spill.

Good questions @RedsforNamesake. If confronting #climate change is your priority, it is imperative to ramp up carbon-free energy asap.

1. NJ will now ramp up renewable energy from 13% in 2017 and 20% by 2020 under old RPS to 35% by 2025 & 50% by 2030. Impressive leadership.
2. To ensure that this new clean energy replaces fossil fuels and contributes to #climate mitigation goals, NJ's new laws also make payments to ensure the continued operation of 3 South Jersey nuclear reactors that currently supply 31% of the state's electricity consumption.
2. Cont.: That measure is essential and ensures that nearly all of the new clean energy growth over the next 12 years builds on top of the fossil-free foundation provided by the state's existing nuclear plants.
