Interesting. @Isikoff has been one of the few honest voices over the last several months on MSNBC and similar venue about the Mueller investigation - what it was and, critically, was not going to achieve.
It's truly fascinating to watch Dems grapple with the fact that Mueller finished his work without indicting a single American for conspiring with Russia over the election: everything from "nobody has read his report!" (irrelevant to that fact) to "sealed indictments!" (unhinged).
How many days away are we from hearing @RepAdamSchiff threaten Robert Mueller with arrest and prosecution rather than just a subpoena? edition.cnn.com/politics/live-…

Also, to kill off one last point: Mueller didn't refrain from indicting Trump because you can't indict a President but because “the evidence does not establish the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference." nytimes.com/interactive/20…
OK, now I see the saddest of all last hopes: Barr is a Trump appointee distorting and lying about Mueller's findings. You think Robert Mueller & his team - whom you've spent 20 months venerating as the Beacon of Integrity & Patriotism - would sit quietly by if that happened???

Kudos to @brianstelter for posting this truly spectacular @mtaibbi article on the horrific debacle of media behavior for 2+ years on Russia/Trump, including (but definitely not limited to) Brian's CNN colleagues. All journalists should grapple with the points in Taibbi's article:
Like Taibbi & others, I was banned for 2 years from MSNBC & CNN - after years of invitations - for questioning & expressing skepticism about their now-discredited tale. There's probably no plaque for that, but I'll always regard it as one of my proudest journalistic achievements.
Everyone is, of course, free to spend their day(s) on social media insisting the evidence is so clear & overwhelming that Trump family members & officials conspired with Russia to influence the election. The question they have to confront is: why did Mueller not indict them then?

Let's take a look into the world of anti-vaccine discussion on Twitter. The first challenge here is to find the tweets; there's no obvious hashtag or term guaranteed to be exclusively associated with #antivax tweets.

A manual review of tweets indicates that #antivax, #vaccine, and #vaccines are all hashtags that occur frequently in anti-vaccine tweets. However, there are lot of false positives (pro-vaccine tweets) in this dataset. How do we isolate the content we're interested in?
Plotting the retweet networks provides a solution. All three hashtags have networks that split into pro and anti-vaccine sections. We can filter out the tweets from the accounts outside the #antivax section to obtain the desired dataset.

The first two things you have to understand about the Alt-Right/Lite are that 1 most of their figureheads are obsessed with fame and 2 they lack firm commitments to any actual principles.
Many of the leading Alt-Right/Lite figures don't actually care very much about politics. And they assume that no one else does either—that is, they assume that leftists are just playing the same game they're playing, only on a different team.
