This NYT op-ed by @DouthatNYT makes one of the most vital & overlooked points: from WMDs to the collusion hoax, it's the center/mainstream - not the fringes - that spread the worst conspiracy theories & paranoia. This is what the media has to reckon with: nytimes.com/2019/03/26/opi…
This is exactly right: as the prevailing order unravels & their authority erodes, the establishment - the western media, the Generals and intelligence operatives they revere & employ, the oligarchical class & TV stars - have descended into full-scale paranoia, conspiracy & lies: 
2 things I learned about the large corporate media since I began writing about them in 2005:
1) They demand transparency from everyone else but provide none for themselves.
2) They demand accountability for everyone's failures but never suffer any for their own. #CollusionHoax
