Rockland County (where I grew up) has declared a state of emergency over the ongoing measles outbreak. Effective at midnight anyone under 18 who is not vaccinated against the measles will be prohibited from public places for 30 days.

If you dont know, Rockland County, NY is right outside of NYC. In addition to having the run-of-the-mill yuppie-mom anti-vaxxers there is a enclave of 10s of 1000s of Hasidic Jews who live in high density housing and are generally not vaccinated. 💉💉💉

I was born and raised in Brunei, and I lived there until I was 19. So believe me when I tell you that I know a thing or two about that country. So let me begin by explaining why boycotting a few luxury hotels won't help achieve anything.

Brunei has been exporting oil and natural gas since the 1930s, and it produces about 200,000 barrels of oil per day. It's also one of the largest exporters of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Brunei uses little of that oil domestically. It has a tiny population of less than 450,000 people. It's industries are negligible. Although it has been trying to diversify its economy for decades, it has failed. So oil is its biggest industry and most of the oil is exported.

Brunswick County has issued a mandatory evacuation for residents in unincorporated areas who live in low-lying and flood-prone areas or substandard or mobile homes, beginning at daylight (7 a.m.) Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Dogs and cats are accepted at the West Brunswick High School shelter. Owners must stay at the shelter as well, and should bring documentation of rabies vaccines, food, any medicines, and any other items necessary for your pets.
