They, and their critics, define fairness not as truth, but as an equal number of positive and negative stories. But no way to honestly cover Trump without making him look bad. So when something even slightly positive comes along, they jump on it.

When he does something dumb, like canceling North Korea sanctions via tweet that weren’t even the right sanctions, there’s no way to cover it without making him look bad.
True. But they didn’t count Bush, Clinton, etc’s lies either, because they didn’t lie nearly as much, or nearly as blatantly.
When the rare positive Trump story comes along, they latch on.
This is why there’s so much inaccurate reporting about Barr’s letter, including MSM uncritically repeating Trumpist spin.
“Exoneration” is not.
“Mueller didn’t find any crimes” is not.
And yet, those inaccuracies are all over coverage from people who should know better.
