Good News!

The Tories are going to sack Theresa May and abandon Brexit. You'll even get a referendum for the pleasure.

A week on Friday we have to decide if we're doing European elections.

If we are, then we accept a long extension of a year.

If we are not, we leave a week on Friday with nothing. A raw Brexit.

No government is going to accept a raw Brexit with no deal. Never happen. Some would, the backbench incurables, but no government would do that, in spite of all the bravado.

So from this point on we are in for a long extension of a year.

Once Parliament accepts the long extension - which it will do today - then it will be impossible for the government to defy it.

This will, of course, mean the complete and public failure of Theresa May's Brexit policy of the last three years.

Failure of that magnitude will force her to resign.

Once Theresa May has left the scene, all the voices of remain will be freed from cabinet loyalty to say what they really think. And what they think is that we should abandon Brexit.

So, in this order. Parliament rejects Brexit. Theresa May resigns. Parliament votes for a long Article 50 extension. The next Tory leader proposes to abandon Brexit with a confirmatory referendum.

Game, set and match to me. DAMN, I'm good.
