These indicative votes in parliament have been very instructive.
It's obvious that the answer - and the only answer - is Theresa May's resignation.
We'll go through it anyway just for the formality.
The only reason there was no overall majority yesterday was because Theresa May keeps telling government ministers to abstain.

It's obvious that as long as she keeps doing that there will never be an overall majority.
In fact, by holding back all the government votes, Theresa May is behaving like a fat and beery union baron with her bellyful of block votes.
Back benchers were fairly evenly split on three options.

Clarke customs union 273 for - 276 against

Boles single market 261 for - 282 against

Kyle referendum 280 - 292

And it's equally well known that government ministers would happily vote all three.
If Theresa May has allowed everyone a free vote there would have been substantial majorities for all three.

So the answer is to sack Theresa May. She is the blockage that's stopping parliament finding a useful majority.
The answer is the same as I told you two years ago.
Sack Theresa May and abandon Brexit.

And that is still what they're going to do because that is still the only thing they can do.

Theresa May is the problem.
