It is commonly believed that that electricity and light are produced by generating apparatus. That is wrong. They are produced by functional and technologically savvy people who alone can invent, maintain and manage the grid. Without the people the grid collapses.
Socialists assume that technology like money, is a natural resource that is easily found. To them the problems of governance lie not in production, but redistribution. Of course the electricity, like healthcare is there. It only remains to make it free.
The truth is as with money, spending is the easy part. It is the making that is hard. By handing it away so recklessly socialist schemes destroy any incentive to produce more stash. But to the end they cling to the belief that the electricity is merely hidden by hoarders.
It's always someone else's fault or else there would be more. It never occurs to them that it was they who had to produce the electricity.
