Think this. PM suggesting joint working is on the surface attractive but Labour is rightly going to have a lot of questions about how this works, and to do it all in a few days looks tricky
One huge problem that is not solved is that if Withdrawal Agreement cannot be changed, any changed Political Declaration is non-binding and therefore can be undone. This has received far too little attention
Another big issue is that the timings in the Withdrawal Agreement for any future relationship remain unrealistic, so without amendment there the backstop becomes more of an issue.
It would be fair to say there is no universal view on what the PM's statement means for the next few days or beyond in Brexit, I guess we do know it is next move Labour.
The weight of opinion is that this is a trap for Labour, a change of strategy, ruling out no-deal, not ruling out no-deal etc. What seems clearer is that in the long tradition of Brexit neither the EU nor Labour were consulted or particularly considered
He may be all of those things but one day UK politicians and media are going to realise you need a stable cross party coalition to succeed in international talks. By the looks of things that day will not be today.
PM approach not acceptable to EU. Have a sneaking feeling more bits of the PM's statement will unravel in coming hours particularly with the PM under pressure from the ERG - who traditionally force her to backtrack
