And like a mirror, AI can be useful in exposing our biases and thus helping us be aware of them & fight them. But it cannot be more ethical than its creators the way a chess program can be stronger than its programmer.
Sony at SXSW asked artists if AI could make them more creative, they said yes, because they see it for what it is, a tool. It takes little away and adds new possibilities. We used to be good at embracing new possibilities. Now we're more afraid of losing old ones.
