You are literally fucking kidding me
Always the same with May. Talks compromise, reverts to blackmail. There is no time to renegotiate or vote on anything new. As ever, her deal or no deal. Why does anyone still think she is remotely capable of changing?
It wouldn’t surprise me if she tries to convince EU to let us off elections in May. New European Parliament only sits on 1 July. This was her plan last month before Council decided that the deadline was in fact 22 May. She doesn’t care what Labour thinks. No-deal is fine.
Let’s hope EU tells her where to stick it. They know we’ll only have to come back on 28 June begging for more time. Why should they convene emergency summits every month just so May doesn’t have to upset the Tory grassroots? Long extension or nothing. Tories can suck it up.

Ignore informality, shaky camera and awkward laughs. This is another trap for Corbyn. Ending free movement is the first thing May says she has in common with Labour. That should go down like a bucket of cold sick. It’s time for Labour to stand behind its own principles.
May’s video also suggests she might buckle on customs union. She doesn’t say anything about ‘taking back control of our money, borders and laws’ (is this a first?) or the freedom to negotiate our own trade deals. It’s toxic for Brexiters, toxic for Remainers, toxic for Labour.
In all, whole thing is just maddeningly disingenuous. May had 3 years to work cross-party as she says public wants. Instead she bulldozed through a Brexit determined by her alone, and lost 3 times. Now she wants Corbyn to own the mess - while the 48%, as usual, are totally erased

You know what, this may be a blessing in disguise. Labour now can’t force through compromise of customs union and single market ‘close relationship’. If it’s to be a Tory Brexit, their policy is to insist on a referendum - and that has now become much likelier
Government is falling apart. ERG hardliners who came over to the deal are scrambling to retreat from it. Labour MPs will be furious government showed their party such disrespect. And DUP is never budging, ever.

Given MPs will never endorse no-deal, that leaves... what, exactly?
Either a general election or second referendum. There are no other options. Government has fucked it.

Likeliest of all: we’ll get both.

Nice polling station you’ve got there, 23rd May. Shame if two things were to happen in it at the same time

Oh god. May still thinks we can avoid participating in the European elections. Even now, she is in complete denial. It can’t work, and it won’t.
Be very clear. May, even now, yet again, is trying to trap MPs. She talks the language of unity and consensus but it’s the same old trick as before: to bind us into a cliff-edge of 22 May, by which time it will be too late to extend any further. As always, it’s this or the abyss.
It’s the most astoundingly cynical manoeuvre. She knows full well that if we haven’t even agreed what deal says, we can’t possibly have it enshrined in law by 22 May. So don’t be fooled. It’s the usual blackmail. We need a long extension or there’s no point asking for any at all.

What we have to figure out is when.
I wonder if we can. With no inside knowledge whatsoever, never having met a journalist or politician in real life, if we can figure out when the general election is going to be.
Theresa May is like a ping pong ball at the moment, back and forth, back and forth between Europe and parliament. Neither side willing to give.

#New PA cong. map increases D chance of winning the House majority by 4%. They only need a 6.8% generic ballot margin now (down from 7.7) to be favored.

Diff. will be closer to 10% in Nov when uncertainty from polls is ⬇️. Redraw is a very big deal.

One major reason the new PA map is such a big gain for Democrats is that it solidifies, not just tips, PA districts in Philly burbs. Also creates one additional vulnerable R district. (Easily seen in this map made by @JMilesColeman)
My forecasting model will have new PA map in the near future. This is not just a simple switch; it’s a coding redesign, restructuring of input, & drawing new geographic files. Takes a while (for me, a student).

Look at the GOP tax plan:

ALL the tax INCREASES are on the middle class. College. Healthcare. Energy. Goods.

ALL of the benefits are for the wealthy.

Meanwhile, all of the increased spending is on the military. And all of the cuts are to the poor.
