Seeing as @UKLabour are so upset about the leaking of internal records relating to their handling of antisemitism, now is as good a time as any to remind them what their current Director of Strategy and Comms thinks about investigative journalism and leaks….

The video was taken in 2011 in Doha when Seumas Milne participated on a panel at the sixth Al-Jazeera Forum entitled – “Leaks: the future of journalism”…..
Seumas Milne: “Investigative journalism is a public service”, “one of the attractive things about leaks…is that they excite people because you’re getting something that was meant to be secret”, “WikiLeaks put on a lot of circulation for the Guardian”….
And my personal favourite – “there is also a circulation, an audience to be gained by bringing people material and information THAT PEOPLE IN POWER HAVE BEEN TRYING TO COVER UP”……
This comes as last night @UKLabour's General Secretary Jennie Formby sent an email to all Labour MP's criticising the leaking of internal records -

EXCLUSIVE – In March 2011 @JeremyCorbyn attended a Hamas-linked conference in Geneva to campaign for the release of convicted Palestinian terrorists. A number of notable individuals attended the conference including Raed Salah and former IRA volunteer Gerry MacLochlainn.....
The conference was organised by ‘The European Network to support the Rights of Palestinian Prisoners’ (UFree). UFree is chaired by Mohammed Hamdan, the brother of senior Hamas official - Osama Hamdan who is a UK-designated terrorist subject to financial sanctions.
UFree make clear that they campaign to free all Palestinian prisoners, including convicted terrorists, or as Hamdan labels them, "heroes" - “these detainees and prisoners were seeking freedom from the occupation therefore they are heroes not terrorists”....

So glad to see that Jackie Walker's Witchhunt film is doing so well. Here she is at a screening last week with her director - Jon Pullman. I wonder why he got the job........
Perhaps it was his belief that "the Zionist movement worked with the Nazis"......
Or maybe it was his opinions on the "Zionist stranglehold on US Congress".....

On Monday night, the usual motley crew of left-wing activists met in London at an event entitled - "Stop the attacks: Defend Corbyn, Defend the Left". Many of those who spoke are old personal friends of @JeremyCorbyn and have spoken alongside him on numerous occasions.
One of the speakers was Lindsey German, @JeremyCorbyn's old Stop the War Coalition comrade. German began her speech by reading out a message of support from @JeremyCorbyn. Watch below:

I stepped into a conversation earlier to suggest patience without realizing it might continue.

I was trying to be helpful but had not considered making an argument for my point.

Now that I've had time, let me offer a response to the current lack of action.
A vast number of people, still listening and believing what they hear on #CNN and #MSNBC think Trump illegitimate and consider the ones 𝒘𝒆 know as criminals to be American heros, who are saving the U.S. from a horrible mistake.
How half the population can be so misguided is easy to understand when you consider how dishonest and calculated the assault by the press has been.

People pick their favorite pundit and choose whatever opinion they espouse.

Labour Against the Witchhunt wouldn't even report a Nazi.

LAW have welcomed former MP Jim Sheridan's reinstatement by the party. He was suspended last summer over an #antisemitic statement he posted on Facebook. But LAW don't accept he did anything wrong in the first place. /1
When Labour members err, there ought to be opportunity for them to learn from the experience and make amends. But comrade Sheridan's statement after his suspension was lifted suggested his only regret was getting caught and he appeared to blame those who complained about him. /2
Let's recall what got him into trouble: Sheridan declared he had lost respect and empathy for an entire ethnic group - "the Jewish community" - due to events in @UKLabour. The #Holocaust, pogroms and persecution no longer moved him because of "their Blairite plotters". /3

If you're fucking sick of hearing so much about left-wing antisemitism, think how fucking tired its victims are of being on the receiving fucking end of it.
And if you think complaints about left-wing antisemitism are part of some kind of conspiracy to cover up complaints of other kinds of racism or forms of bigotry, guess what, you sound pretty indistinguishable from an antisemite, however "woke" you are.
Absolutely true that antisemitism isn't the only form of bigotry or hypocrisy on the left - various people &/or publications decry some kinds of antisemitism but not others, or are actively transphobic or racist in other ways. That's not an excuse to be same.

We will create partnerships between newsrooms and local computational resources like college and university statistics, social science and demography departments, and establish a series of Census newsroom fellowships. 2/
