Since Monday I've reflected on what I’ve heard and witnessed over 37 years. With online results databases, it’s been straightforward to identify exact dates. My first match was in 1983. I never heard any direct racist abuse shouted at a specific player by any fan for a decade.2

me right now, watching tv instead of going to bed so i can get enough sleep to make it through pretrial motions in the civil suit about the confederate statues.
i was originally very concerned about a monumental (awful pun, so sorry) scheduling conflict, with the statue civil suit AND the RAM federal criminal trial set for this coming week, but both cases ended up designated complex & rescheduled for later this year.
last time judge moore heard pretrial motions in this case, it took an entire day. i’m not optimistic for a quick & painless hearinWggR

thread on the casualisation of academic work//shaming & not shaming: in 2011, when i was finishing my PhD, i was interviewed for a good academic job at a good university in london. 2 ppl i knew were also interviewed for the position. interview went well & i rlly wanted the job.
that evening the 2 ppl i knew both found out they didn't get it. so i knew it was between me & one other. a week went by. 2 weeks, 3 weeks. did i mention i was broke & finishing my phd. after maybe a month of phoning THEM i get a call from the head of dept
telling me what i already knew - i didnt get the job. BUT they wanted to work w/me. so i went in for a meeting & they gave me some teaching - 1.5 hrs a week - paid at £23 an hour. That's £34.50 a week. After tax, NI and travel there & back it was less than £20. I did this because

After 70 years of imperial/neoliberal indoctrination the web of lies is so obviously absurde (9/11, Skripal, WH = ISIS, etc.), that it is dissoluting. The empathetic humanity connects, closes ranks and sends their eternal psychopathic rulers and their lackeys into nowhere land.
The "evil empire" is a lifelong three year old child. I certainly loved my children at that age too, however only because they created not only a surreal mess, but also made steady progress.

A great documentary about psychopathy and society:
The elite invented "democracy" to protect them from the empathetic people. The media are their means for misleading the people sedated by "democracy". This is definitely a bad thing since the people have become educated and the elite almost totally insane.
