There's something else we've all forgotten in all the excitement. Remember Theresa May had a two-year parliament in expectation she would have Brexit done by now?

Well, her two year parliament expires this summer.

And that means Theresa May is going to have to present a new Queen's speech to parliament this September.

And she's not going to get a Queen's speech through.

And if Theresa May can't get a Queen's speech through parliament in September - and she must know this - it means she has to get her withdrawal agreement through parliament before the summer recess.

And that means before the end of June.

And the Speaker has already ruled out another vote on her withdrawal agreement in the current session.
And the only way to create a new session is to hold a general election and hope to win a majority to pass her withdrawal agreement by October.

Theresa May's deadline isn't October. Her deadline is summer recess at the end of June. And all Theresa May has got between now and October 31st is a political minefield.

What events could force Theresa May's resignation?

May 2nd - Local elections likely to be a disaster

May 23rd - European elections. A nightmare

September - New parliament with Queen's speech

October 31st - Brexit extension expires

And if Theresa may tries to get yet another extension beyond October, then the one-year ban on a leadership challenge is going to expire.

You see? Theresa May hasn't really got an extension at all, except a phoney one.
She won't get Brexit through before summer, Europe won't talk to her again before October, and she has to get a new Queen's speech through parliament in September.

And the local and European elections are going to bring her down anyway.
