JUST IN: Justice Department unseals conspiracy charges against Julian Assange related to the 2010 publishing of US secrets provided to Wikileaks by @xychelsea.
@xychelsea The unsealed indictment charges Assange with a single count of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion. It was approved by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia over a year ago, and is dated March 6, 2018.
Importantly, the indictment does not accuse Assange of violating the Espionage Act in publishing classified material.

Rather, it alleges he conspired with Manning by helping her hack into a secure government computer.

Nadler just told @ChadPergram he's "not sure we won't" seek to assert Congress's "inherent contempt" power, which would, under the historic practice, see Barr hauled before the House to be punished by the body.
@ChadPergram That said, Nadler said it will "probably be a civil contempt," which means a lawsuit filed in federal court -- and not the first congressional effort in more than 80 years to jail a recalcitrant witness for contempt.
