#JulianAssange has performed crucial services to democracy. It would be a travesty of justice if he were extradited and punished for them. He should be released immediately.
If he was arrested and extradited to face the original allegations of sexual assault in Sweden, it would be acceptable. But an arrest and possible extradition to the US for publishing material of great public interest is another matter entirely.
This is where I think many people are going wrong. I don't like his politics either. But we should defend his right to pursue them, and to bring important material into the public domain. 
Believe me, I do, and he's not my mate. But neither fact has a bearing on justice.
