Great example of why Trump has trouble recruiting good people.
Miller came up with a dumb idea. Knowledgeable people at DHS rejected it. WH tried to kill the outrage, but Trump likes outrage and only cares about the reaction (not the details) so he undermined his own people.

Are the actually considering this? Of course not. Legal issues aside (and there many), it's unbelievably dumb and would take massive coordination/cost.
It's an empty threat that Trump views as leverage, but there are consequences to undermining your own people like that.

Bottom line: Trump loves to troll Dems and the media. It's something people have to live with, whether they like it or not. But in this case he is also undermining his own people to do it, which is not a good look.
