One habit you want to incorporate is writing.

Writing makes you a clearer thinker.

And being a clearer thinker makes you more emotionally stable.

Do this:

1. Identify 1 bad habit.
2. Whenever you want to carry out the bad habit, write instead

Your neural pathways will rewire
'Is writing that big of a deal?'

Yep.

I call it active meditation.

And it can alter your life.

But more importantly, making it a habit is deadly

Time for some neuroscience 101
When you meditate, you are trying to get your mind to focus on the present moment.

You can't see the mind, therefore it affects your awareness.

Many newbie meditators quit for this reason.
But over time, if you stick with meditation for long enough, your awareness muscle strengthens.

And it becomes easier to keep your focus on the present vs. drifting off to your thoughts.

You just need to be consistent.
Writing is a tad bit different.

You're actively engaging with your mind.

You're getting the thoughts from the internal to the external.

This has you feeling much more involved.
Meditation & journaling are both great, don't get me wrong.

But in order to break out of a bad habit, it's MUCH better to have an active approach from my experience.

You need something that makes you feel involved.

Which is why writing is lifechanging.
A lot of your present-day life = Habits.

Habits = acts you do on autopilot.

Some habits are beneficial, some are destructive.
'So why don't people just stop doing the habit?'

Because it is ingrained in you at this point.

You have solidified neural pathways for this act.

Which is why:

You don't stop bad habits, you REPLACE bad habits.
The goal is to weaken the neural pathways for the bad act and strengthen neural pathways for the good act.

This method is much more effective & leads to long term success.
Habits 101:

1. Identify your trigger - This is an impulse that activates the habit in the first place. You need to make yourself AWARE.

2. Replace - Once identified, replace bad habit with good habit.

3. Be consistent & build momentum.

4. Solidify pathways.
'What do I write about?'

Anything to be honest.

You can begin writing about the sensations you are feeling by avoiding the bad habit. Say your bad habit is smoking.

Talk about how you physically feel & the thoughts you are experiencing.
Not only do you stop doing a bad habit, but you become a better writer!

Being a better writer leads to:

Clarified thinking
Emotional intelligence
Finding your voice
Connecting with your subconscious mind
Enhanced communication skills

And much more
So take an active approach.

Write to rewire your life.

Remember this homie
