A completely inadequate response to the petition. How does this address:
- Overspending
- Lies spread by secret social media adverts
- misconduct in public office (referendum lies)
- Press and media (partic. BBC) lies and bias

This is not just about the referendum result, it's about ALL the abuses and wrong doings that have led us to a Government that wants to implement brexit
A BREXIT #PublicInquiry is needed, not a referendum inquiry.

Take the #SecretFacebookAds. A previous gov't petition response put forward the idea that it's okay for political campaigners to lie, because it's up to the opposition to challenge them. On that basis alone, the FB ads should be banned, you can't challenge a lie you can't see. /3

Take Media lies and #BBCbias. The whole BBC tone since the referendum, is that brexit is a done deal, not to be subject to debate. How does that serve democracy, the BBC wields immense power that individual citizens cannot challenge. /4

Take the press. When newspapers lie, complaints are made and who judges them ? A board consisting largely of the press. So the few upheld complaints appear as an apology several weeks later, in small print, well away from the front page. That is completely inadequate. /5

Any news owner, who happens to be a billionaire and would like to benefit from avoiding UK tax by taking the UK out of the EU is basically free to publish any lies they like to support their case. /6

Media bias again: How do back-bench MPs like @Jacob_Rees_Mogg manage to get such prominence. He is amongst who will benefit from an economic disaster, and an economic downside, if not disaster, is what is predicted by most sources for the varieties of brexit. /6

How do we manage to have in parliament and in government, people who will actively benefit from a disastrous brexit ? I could go on ...

It's time to PUT BREXIT ON HOLD until a #PublicInquiry into this whole mess. /7 ends.
