REMINDER: The school-to-prison pipeline can take many forms. For example, not only are public school teachers underpaid, Wall Street regularly invests their pensions into private prisons who then donate to politicians whose budgets/policies hurt public schools + poor communities.
"The American Federation of Teachers, which influences over $1 trillion in public-teacher pension plans, published a report identifying more than two dozen firms that bet pensions on jail operators CoreCivic Inc and GEO Group Inc"

Wall Street using public school teacher pensions to fund private prisons who then donate to the politicians who will ensure that the poorest students remain uneducated and have a higher chance of ending up in prison is a perfect example of class warfare.

Another reminder: Don't be fooled by milquetoast prison reform bills that have private prison companies as corporate sponsors. Any "reform" bill that has a corporate sponsor is likely a cash cow for said corporation, and the First Step Act is no exception.
PS: Any Democrat who accepts money from the private prison industry deserves to be primaried.
