Hello, this is a thread to try and persuade you to cancel any brunch plans and get out into any open space north of SF. The wildflowers are amazing

Poppies, sure they are everywhere. But let’s talk about the more subtle and effervescent wildflowers

My photography isn’t going to do this justice, but not too far off from the secret place in Howl’s Moving Castle

This was in an area that saw big fires a few years ago. Amazing how one side of a hill is burned the other side is fine

But in any case the trees are coming back, the wildflowers are epic, the redwing black birds and thrushes and warblers are in full force

Anyway, who cares about dutiful Easter duties when you can celebrate creation this way

We went to Cache Creek trails near Clearlake. But anywhere in Lake or Colusa or probably a lot of area will be same

Cabbage been living his best life on this trip

Ok, starting today’s hike at Lake Berryessa

I mean

I have never seen anything like this

Both of these hikes were in parts of the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument, which Obama designated in 2015, pulling together a patchwork of state and federal managed lands into one multi-use protected space and wildlife corridor. Trump’s trying to undo it.
