Happy Easter once again.

Let me start this thread by clearly stating that as Nigerians, we must continue to push for constitutional reform to address our needs especially poverty. Nigeria is set up to be poor, our constitution is archaic and fraudulent.

From 1999 - 2015, we had enough time to amend these issues, now 2015 - 2023, significant efforts must be made to change it completely. The responsibility lies on every stakeholder from HOA to the executive. The exclusive list must to visited, several items must be expunged.

Power, solid minerals, inland water ways, ports and security. These items must be removed asap by the legislative houses else we will continue to swim in the ocean of poverty and under development. I will use some states as examples..

Kogi state, Ondo and Lagos.

Kogi state is a poor state simply because the state cannot harness its potentials due to the barbaric exclusive list. The poor, hopeless and starving despite the enormous resources they are blessed with. The FG sits on every good thing available to make the state thrive.

We have Iron ore in Itakpe, solid minerals are on the exclusive list so the state cannot touch it. There are several moneral deposits in the state wasting under the ground. The people are blessed but some elements in Abuja have decided to hold their destiny to ransom.

These elements built Ajaokuta, decades after the project is still in ruins. Why can't the FG hand it over to the state? The FG has proven to be clueless.. Japan does not have iron ore but Japan has a viable steel industry. Japan imports every mineral Kogi has..coal, coke,

Bauxite, iron ore. Japan makes billions of dollars annually from what is our backyard in Kogi state. But the state cannot pay salaries. The governor must borrow and beg for bailout. The people cannot utilize the potentials of the Niger and Benue river..

Ports, inland Rivers are on the exclusive list but when the rivers over flow their banks, the people suffer and lose their homes and businesses. In Kogi, we have Geregu and itobe coal that can power the entire middle belt, but Kogi does not have 'light'..darkness all over.

Read up marble deposits in Kogi state and how much the state can earn from it. Too many potentials but the exclusive list wont let the state thrive.

Ondo state has the second largest bitumen deposit in the world but the state buys asphalt to fix roads. Isn't this madness?

Ondo has the longest shore line in Nigeria, that can accommodate several ports and boost tourism.. their fate hangs on the FG, PMB, minister and FG civil servants who do not partake in the suffering of the people.

Every state is blessed in Nigeria. It is time to read the exclusive list and allow states control their resources and pay taxes to the centre. Let the states build wealth and free their people from poverty. We either sink or swim!

Ilesha has Gold in large deposits but Rauf had to borrow to survive. The people of Ilesha cannot benefit from their resources. Zamfara has lead and several other minerals but they are left to survive on a paltry stipend from the FG monthly.

Give oil to the Niger Delta. Let them own it, let them control their resources and pay taxes to the FG. Let these resources be useful to the people..The FG takes billions from Lagos - VAT, corporate taxes, revenues from customs at the port, seme border etc..

Governance is local, politics is local and poverty eradication is local! We cannot eradicate poverty from Abuja. That idea is dead on arrival. Nigerians cannot be suffering in the midst of plenty because of one constitution or exclusive list. It is time to discard it..

When the states can harness their resources, employment opportunities will spring up, they will be able to pay better salaries, equip their police formation and provide adequate security. They will sort out healthcare issues and the quality of life of the citizens will improve.

This system is not good enough to solve our problems. Let us stop struggling with it.

Buhari is from Katsina state! His people are poor and he knows they have the resources to be the richest state in Northern Nigeria. There is no LG in Katsina that is not endowed!

Why is everyone bothered about crude oil in the Niger Delta! Katsina has Uranium deposits..Let them use it to better their lives
