AG Bill Barr's hearing before Senate Judiciary is underway. Chair Lindsey Graham's opening remarks spend a lot of time on Peter Strzok (the FBI agent involved early in the Russia probe who sent anti-Trump texts), saying they'll focus on the origin of the probe post-Mueller
We now have Mueller's 3/27 letter to Barr. What he said:
- That Barr could release intros and executive summaries of both volumes asap
- That Barr's 3/24 letter "did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance" of the special counsel's work

Here is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's resignation letter to Trump today — he'll officially leave on May 11.

Statement from AG Bill Barr on Rosenstein's resignation: "Rod has been an invaluable partner to me during my return to the Department, and I have relied heavily on his leadership and judgment over the past several months."
Rosenstein's successor, Jeffrey Rosen, hasn't been confirmed by the Senate. He had a hearing on April 10 and the committee hasn't voted yet on his nomination.

Well, sommanab*tch! The link I saved from one of the media outlets that knew ...now seems to be gone. Of course I couldn't archive it because it was WaPo. They wouldn't let me archive it.
Well, here's another one, by Buzzfeed, no less. They KNEW that Trump worked WITH the FBI, yet they participated in the conspiracy against him to frame him as the guilty one.

1/ The document being discussed in the media is called a superseding information. It replaces the charges that Gates currently faces with new charges—a charge of conspiracy against the United States and a charge of making a false statement to the FBI. assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4386…
2/ It’s typical for a cooperator to plead guilty to fewer charges (often just one) than he was originally charged with. Typically a prosecutor will do that as long as the maximum sentence called for in the sentencing guidelines is within the maximum sentence for the charges.
