Yep. Biden's announcement video positions him as a reset button for the Trump presidency—elect Biden, and Trump is a footnote. Re-elect Trump, and "he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation."
I think he's pretty obviously wrong. Trump is the culmination (for now) of massive and important transformations in American politics and society that we'll be grappling with for a very long time. But there's clearly a constituency for this message.
"What is broken and how do we fix it?" is the core underlying question of American politics right now. Biden's candidacy pushes that question further to the foreground of the primary fight, I think.

Framing voting rights for the imprisoned as being about the Boston marathon bomber is a way of NOT framing it as being about redemption, about social bonds, about reintegration into society.
"Should someone who is going to be paroled in three months at the age of 23 be able to cast the first vote of his life a few weeks before he's released" is a more interesting question than the marathon bomber question, and a more representative one.

I'm a little surprised it was scheduled tonight as Jokowi is coming from a huge concert held at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
Prabowo has arrived at the debate venue fashionably early which I enjoy - or perhaps he was just at a loose end.
