Originally, Religion was based on the real world -Things which could be seen Wind, Animals, Sky, Moon, Plants, and the like

When mysteries of these things were solved by investigation, leaders moved to things which could not be seen

Questions stopped and followers needed faith

Whenever the pieces of the illusion were discovered, god was touchable and no longer the omniscient being. Leaders would continually move the goalposts Putting god further out of reach until god was all but imaginary. Faith was needed to jump this gap between reality and lies

Thru history, religion has relied on things to further their pursuit
Gain more followers = more money

Oppressing birth control
Encouraging reproduction
Advertising and recruiting people

In these ways, congregations were increased and churches brought in more $ for

them

This power religious leaders hold is illusory, psychosomatic, and controlling

Religious leaders have told people what to

Eat
Wear
Worship
Say

Where to go
Who is important
How to give money and how much
What is important

WHO TO VOTE FOR

WHO IS REALLY IN CHARGE

Religious leaders have Created
Fear
Guilt
Shame
Embarrassment
Confession
Oppression

MINIONS

They have asked for your contributions by
Crying
Pleading
Yelling
Performing
Entertaining
Making people feel welcome
Hosting you
Forgiving you
Coddling you

All to get more money

A pyramid scheme to further
their will,
their desires,
their hopes,
their lives

thru the gullibility of others
More followers = Bigger churches
Bigger churches seat more people = more money

They are selling
Books
DVDs
Counselling
Therapy
Crosses
Book marks
Rosaries

and more

Pastors, Rabbi, Priests, Clergy and other leaders may not know the cycle they are perpetuating

Some may be truly inspired and committed to their cause

Do we remember when they held other jobs and supported themselves?

Now they want your money to "Spread the word" full-time

Religion is a BIG business
One which America
does not tax,
does not regulate,
does not oversee for fear of litigation.

Litigation which will be based on First Amendment Rights
Litigation which will not expose them, but put government in additional fear.

Fear = No persecution

And what do they give in return?

Intangible rewards
Salvation
Forgiveness
Heaven
Freedom from fear they created
Revelation
Safety
Ever-lasting life
Eternity
Companionship
A sense of belonging
A purpose
A meaning
A direction

Not measurable
Not quantifiable
Not visible

What is the real cost to people?

Life
Death
Reality
Time
Money
Hope
Humanity

Religion was the basis for so many

Wars
Campaigns
Genocides
Crimes

and HATE

From within the love and spirit of religion the opposite is often amplified

Bombings Shootings Beheadings Kidnappings

Religious conflict in the modern period

Israeli–Palestinian conflict
Pakistan and India
Abyssinia – Somalia
Nigerian conflict
Buddhist uprising
Chinese conflict
Lebanese Civil War
Yugoslav Wars
Sudanese Civil War

All in the name of a Unseen, Untouched, Imaginary Super Being

So I ask myself - Why?

Not one bit of proof has been shown which could act as "evidence"

Not one person has returned to earth after death

They why? Why do they believe?

Man is searching for HOPE
Hope that life is more than what we see

Many turn to religion to live eternally

Religion turns people into egotistical beings

They are convinced their life has more meaning than the birds, ants, bears, and lions

They perpetuate the believe that life goes on

But there is no proof of that

Not one bit

The words of men written in a book is NOT proof

In a existence which is so small, so miniscule, so tiny compared to the size of our universe,

Man
Searches
Imagines
Hopes
Desires and
Dreams

of a place where things will be better, perfect, utopian

I cast no ill will on believers

No hate

Only wonder

And Jealousy

Yes, I am jealous of their gods

Their ability to have some thing which can explain it all

Some thing to ask for help from

Some thing who can take control and allow me to be LAZY

I don't have that

But I will continue to search for answers, wherever they may lead. Dave
