The “cant we all get along folks” are showing their inner white supremacist, I feel.

First of all, white liberals, in general, are feeling the discomfort, disorientation, sense of isolation and terror that their whiteness, until recently, has inoculated them against recognizing or experiencing.

Racism (and sexism, ableism, anti-LGBT bias, Islamaphobia, etc.,) has remained a distant concept, most white people assuming it only exists in the most extreme examples of violence or hatred, the scrawled swastikas, vicious threats or mass shootings.

Not as an intentional societal structure that creates barriers between the haves-terrified-of-losing-any tiny piece-of-ground, and the ‘would-like-to-share-some-of that-scratch-after-all-we-built-this-country-for-frees’

The same people who protest voted for Bernie or Stein or stayed home, knowing that the people whose issues they dismissed as peripheral were going to vote Democratic and they could project their superiority in political purity while Clinton took the presidency.

The think pieces rained down about the poor, misunderstood, “white working class voters” who were so upset about the fact that President Obama averted a major recession/depression and set us on a path towards recovery, I mean “economic insecurity”

That they had to vote for a racist, sexist, narcissistic grifter.
As. If. black women, trans people, latinex, immigrants had no similar or worse economic concerns.
So definitely not because they were racist. Nope

They blamed “IDENTITY POLITICS”
Which, as far as I can understand, is a derisively dismissive phrase chiding victims of bias, racism and systematic discrimination for COMPLAINING ABOUT IT.
The way the phrase “politically correct” ridicules the concept of basic decency

By trivializing women’s, lgbt, poc, Anti-islamic issues, they are making it clear that they think only white (men)’s feelings and votes are valuable and our collective work must be to coddle and cajole EFFING FOX NEWS WATCHERS INTO VOTING DEMOCRATIC.
AS. EFFING. IF.

Now they are panicking.
Black and Latina women, LGBT people, all the unimportant fringe identity groups DID vote in overwhelming majorities for Clinton because we live with that very same fear. We knew that the Democrats count on our votes no matter what and ignore us later.

We still did it because we knew she was our best choice and we fucking well understood that a Trump presidency would embolden, encourage and encode the racist, sexist, homophobic anti-Muslim hatred we already experience.

Now every time I post a thoughtful exploration of a white male candidate’s (lack of) bona fides; an essay making it clear that ESPECIALLY BLACK AND LATINA WOMEN are tired of carrying the Democratic Party in their backs without a seat at the table,

Or our issues concretely and materially addressed in the Party platform and legislation, I am bombarded with Chads and Beckys desperately imploring me to pinky swear to vote for whoever is against Trump no matter whom in the name of the father the son and the holy ghost amen.

Okay then. You want our votes as much as you keep whining about those precious #WyteVoters, let’s hear your concrete plans about our concerns:

Institutional racism, Prison reform, Policing reform, Reproductive rights, Reparations, Immigration reform, Disabled Rights, Eradication of anti LGBT laws, White Terrorism.
I could definitely go on.

Because, and I think I’m speaking for a whack of unwyte progressives here: we’re sick of Old White Men putting our issues last. We’re sick of Old White Men going on Fox News and bloviating about “middle class voters” when it’s clear they don’t mean us.

We’re sick of Old White Men (and Young White Men and White Women) giving lip service to us. It’s time for some payback.
