In addressing Chinese-American parents testifying to keep the #SHSAT @MarkTreyger718 *incorrectly* sites 1927 Lum v Rice case as about Chinese being excluded from public schools. It was actually abt them wanting to be classified as white and therefore not assigned to black school
Chinese-Americans in this case did not sue to end segregation, just to benefit from it. So, I think this case ironically did not make the point he was trying to make. (SCOTUS, btw, ruled Chinese could not go to white school)
